Hello! Matt here. A quick reminder: you’re getting this email because you signed up for Dracula Daily, the email newsletter that sends you the full text of Dracula in real time. If that doesn’t sound familiar, you can unsubscribe at the link at the bottom of this email.
Two Week Countdown!
The story of Dracula starts on May 3, which means we’re just two weeks away. Dracula is fun to read along with people, so if there’s anybody in your life you’d like to join this book club with, get ‘em on board now! :)
On May 3 you’ll get the first section of the book, as we meet Jonathan Harker. After that, you’ll get emails on days when there’s action in the book.

Book News
Did you know we’re making a book? It’s real, folks. Published officially on September 19, 2023, you’ll be able to get the full Dracula Daily email experience… on paper.
This is a mockup of the real cover, but the book is coming along and already at the printers. It’s big and beautiful. 8”x10”, more than 300 pages, and it’s got:
the full text of Dracula arranged by date, so you can read along with the calendar
each days’ email subject lines
a nice sweet ribbon bookmark
some other nice book things: shiny foil embossed cover, full color pages, custom endpapers
more kukri knives than is strictly necessary
and the best part: a sampling of favorite memes, jokes, text responses, and artwork, that you generated during last year’s run of Dracula Daily. Thanks to the hundreds of you who gave permission to be included!
I’ve already started thinking of this as both a memento of the incredible 2022 response to Dracula, and a way that I can help others get a taste of that experience (without a time machine and a Tumblr account).
It’s available for preorder now!
You can preorder it now, and to celebrate I made some merch to give away. This isn’t a kickstarter or anything - the book is basically done and at the printers now. The merch is just a thank you to anyone who preorders it. Here are some details at the draculadaily.com site, but in short:
everybody gets a bookplate sticker
the first 500 people get a bookmark
and the first 200 people get a motel keychain from Castle Dracula
Details and the form to get preorder merch are on draculadaily.com.
Can’t wait until May 3 for the Dracula action to start?
There’s a lot of Dracula stuff in the air lately. Some ideas to fill the void for the next few weeks:
Dracula’s Guest is a short story Bram Stoker wrote originally as the first chapter of Dracula. It was cut for publication but serves as a kind of prologue.
Re:Dracula is an audio drama podcast that follows the same track we’re on; should be fun!
The Last Voyage of the Demeter trailer dropped recently - it’s a new movie that only covers the Demeter sections fo the novel - just dropped a trailer.
I, Dracula is a modern origin-story novel for the count (and the author D.S. Crowe is discounting the kindle price in honor of Dracula Season)
and there’s that Renfield movie!
For the record, I haven’t watched or read any of this, but it all looks pretty fun.
That’s it!
The next email you get will be the start of Dracula.
Thanks,
Matt
